  • "This course helped me kick off my year perfectly. I’d tried meditation before but lost the ‘me time’ I needed and gave up on it. The meditation I learnt with Helen was simple, and I managed to work out how to keep it up at home. I love the sense of calm it brings me… and I’m sure my kids are thankful for it too!"

Meet your Teacher

Hi! I’m Helen, a Mum-of-two, business owner and homesteader.

I’ve been meditating regularly for 18 years. Sometimes my practice is long, quiet and nourishing. Most of the time it’s 5 minutes on the floor, surrounded by toys, with children climbing on my back. Every time, it’s exactly what I need. A moment of reset, perspective and peace.

I get that finding time for meditation is challenging, particularly if you’ve tried it before and felt like you just can’t do it. That’s why my meditation course is based on a simple, accessible practice that can be done in 5, 1o or 20 minutes. It’s full of wisdom from my own experience, others’ teachings and the shared experience of the group to help you break down the barriers to practicing meditation regularly at home.

FAQs

  • This meditation course begins with the basics, so is ideal for people new to meditation. Our practice builds slowly over the term to allow you to find your ideal length of time to meditate.

  • Throughout our term together, we identify and discuss common barriers to meditation practice and help you to develop strategies to overcome them. Learning to meditate in a group will help you realise that many of the reasons we struggle to meditate are shared with others. We also use a meditation technique that is accessible and realistic – no need to ‘stop thinking’!

  • We meet weekly for one hour for the duration of the course. I recommend that you commit to a further 10-15 minutes, 3 days per week for your home practice. I will guide you with suggestions for finding and committing to time in your busy life.

  • The course includes 4 in-person or live online classes, plus recordings of the weekly class content. If you are unable to attend the class, you can attend at a time that suits you by using the recordings.

  • Just enthusiasm, comfy clothes and somewhere to sit! Our custom-built studio is fully accessible for wheelchairs, mobility aids and prams. Mats and props are included, and if you’re attending online, you’ll just need a cushion, blanket or chair to sit on.
